Eddie,
I remember after Italia 90, euro 96 and France 98 being absolutely devastated to go out - the last 10 years I can honestly say I've not been bothered in the slightest when we've fucked up.

what he actually said was there has been no discussion and there won't be for at least another nine months.

Can't remember the last time I gave a shit about the national team. Probably as far back as 2002.

how kyle walker makes the squad beggars belief.

Danny Rose has pulled out injured. I somehow think Cresswell won't be getting a call from the senile old twat.

Even Danny Rose thinks Cresswell is better than him.

I'll always support England I just won't watch them. Depressing squad fronted by a toothless manager.

Re: England Squad
My argument is that not every player who bursts on the scene with some good form turns out to be the real deal.
The bar for getting in the England squad should be higher than a handful of decent games (and at least one at WHL against us where he was ordinary).

Are those pulled out of the squad through injury now ineligible for next Saturday's matches under any obscure FIFA rule?

Re: England Squad
For every ricketts there is a Rooney. I don't see your argument here.

Fans want players picked on form what if that form is from a player who has only played 20 games? Or are there different rules for players under 23?

Mason has been given a chance in the first team, he's doing well. If he was West Ham it'd be different.

Sven Roeder 6:42 Tue Mar 24
Re: England Squad
For every Rooney that bursts on the scene there is a Michael Ricketts.
Sure you can see that someone looks a prospect for future honours in 20 games or so but you want to see them over some ups and downs.
Picking every new sensation just means you are desparate and have fucked up your u21's.

AND THEY ALL SEEM TO BE FROM SPURS.
THAT GREAT DEVELOPER OF TALENT

Re: England Squad
Sven, that's the point i'm making right there.

Everyone saying how great Cressers was after a few months, and should be in the England setup, but will turn their noses up at anyone else with a similar half a decent season saying it's ludicrous.

C&B specs on for me.

People moan when it's the same old tired names
People moan when it's someone new

Why should a player have to 'wait' to get a call up? If he's good enough pick him. who decided there was a minimum amount of games a player has to wait?

i-Ron 6:34 Tue Mar 24
Re: England Squad
I don't think there's much in it with Rose and Cresswell.
What I'm saying is, we'd all be insisting Cresswell is better and pulling up stats, when Rose has been labelled a better performer than Cressers on stats sites. Plus, I reckon if Cressers was at any other mid table club, nobody would give a fuck. No fuck given whatsoever. Not one poster would be calling for an England call up for him.

Last time I looked Cresswell was ranked about 9th or 10th best ENGLISH left back in the league. I'm going home soon but I will check another time.

Sven Roeder 6:29 Tue Mar 24
Re: England Squad
Kane with his goalscoring has been exceptional but players like Mason making England squads after effectively half a Premiership season is bonkers.

ooooh Morley Morley 6:26 Tue Mar 24
Re: England Squad
I think Mason has been pretty decent from what I've seen. My old man is STH and said the manager has got it spot on with younger players so far.
